Sophie Werner joined the NJBAC’s Office of Export Promotion in June of 2023, as an International Business Advocate. In this role, she assists NJ-based businesses both get started in their exporting journeys and continue in market expansion, by navigating available resources such as the NJ State Trade Expansion Program (NJSTEP). Prior to joining the NJBAC, Ms. Werner was a Program Manager at the Latin American Economic Development Association, Inc. (LAEDA), and previously, Assistant Program Manager at the LAEDA Women’s Business Center. In these roles, she oversaw the Entrepreneurship Development Training Program and several other business training courses, and provided business counseling to all LAEDA business clients with an emphasis on woman-owned businesses. Ms. Werner holds a BA from Saint Joseph's University for Communication Studies and Spanish and a minor in Leadership Ethics & Organizational Sustainability. She speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese and plans to learn Italian and French.
