Brownfields Redevelopment Task Force
Section 5 of the 1998 Brownfield Act created the Brownfields Redevelopment Task Force to assist municipalities and counties in brownfield redevelopment and through the creation of an inventory of marketable brownfield sites for prospective developers.
The 13-member Task Force consists of seven representatives from State agencies and six public members. The six public members are appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Chair of the Task Force is selected by the Governor.
* The Task Force has not met in several years and is not currently comprised of an effective number of public members. The inventory of marketable brownfield sites (SiteMart) is not currently being maintained. Brownfields in New Jersey can be identified in a number of ways.
