Francis (Fran) O’Connor was nominated to serve as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation by Governor Murphy in January 2024.  O’Connor previously served as Deputy Director of the NJTA’s Electronic Toll Collection Program.  In the private sector, Fran advised transportation agencies across the country on the development and execution of critical projects with a strategic focus on toll roads.

 

O’Connor graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s in accounting from St. Peter’s University.

 

Elizabeth Maher Muoio

Elizabeth Maher Muoio was selected by Governor Phil Murphy and confirmed by the State Senate to serve as the New Jersey State Treasurer. She previously served as a Mercer County Assemblywoman as well as having served as the Director of Economic Development for Mercer County.

Muoio earned a B.A. in history from Wesleyan University and attained her J.D. of law from Georgetown University Law School. While at Georgetown, she served as the legislative director for Texas Congressman Jack Brooks.

She has lived in Pennington with her husband Joseph Muoio since 1995 and has three children. Muoio has served on many boards and commissions including Pennington Borough public commissions, the Pennington Library Board of Trustees, and in the Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters.

Greg Lalevee worked his way through the ranks of IUOE Local 825, beginning as a crane operator, working as a union organizer and Business Representative. Greg was elected Local's Business Manager in 2010.

Under Greg's leadership, Local 825 orchestrated several changes and transactions to strengthen the union's financial footing, consolidate its membership, establish a new labor-management agreement, while taking every opportunity to relentlessly pursue job opportunities for his members in the face of a weak economy.

In May 2011, Greg was elected to the International Union's General Executive Board. Greg serves as a trustee of N.J. SEED, a Labor Management coalition that promotes economic development and was also recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Community Health Charities of N.J. Greg also sits on the State of N.J. Licensed crane operators advisory board.

Robert A. Briant, Jr.

Robert A. Briant, Jr. is the CEO of the Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) that represents approximately 1,000 member firms active in all phases of heavy, transportation and utility construction throughout the State of New Jersey. Mr. Briant also held the positions of Associate Executive Director and Executive Director at the association prior to his current position. During his 24 years with UTCA, Mr. Briant was active in labor negotiations and mediation, construction claims resolution, permit acquisition, and various State and federal regulatory issues that affect the infrastructure industry.

Mr. Briant was appointed by former Governor Christine Whitman to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission in August of 1994 to December 1997. He also has served on various committees and advisory boards related to the construction industry. Mr. Briant served as an elected Councilman in the Borough of Manasquan from 2000 to 2005 where he currently resides with his wife Deborah and children, Colin and Hannah. Mr. Briant received his B. A. degree in Political Science.

Nelson Ferreira

Nelson Ferreira is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ferreira Construction Company, Inc., located in Branchburg, New Jersey. Very early in his career, Nelson realized what he wanted to accomplish in life - to become a successful construction contractor. He also realized that it would take a lot of perseverance, hard work and dedication.

Today, Ferreira Construction Company, Inc., "a company on the move", is a multi-million dollar, multi-faceted construction company with bonding capacity in excess of $200 million, with over 700 pieces of construction equipment. Ferreira Construction Company employs approximately 300 full-time employees and has expanded its market to include Florida and New York. Nelson commits to providing his employees with training and certifications to keep his company ahead of the curve with technology and safety programs.

Khalid Anjum

Khalid Anjum is the Chief Innovation Officer of Middlesex County in New Jersey.  Mr. Anjum also previously served as the Department Head of Infrastructure Management and Chief Information Officer for Middlesex County.  His areas of expertise include transportation engineering & construction, public works management, smart cities planning, facilities planning & management, emerging technologies, infrastructure management, transportation program management, and traffic & transportation engineering. 

 

Anjum earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bangalore University in India, along with a master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. 

 

          

 

Jack Kocsis, Jr.

Jack Kocsis, Jr. is Chief Executive Officer of the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey (ACCNJ). ACCNJ represents contractor members engaged in commercial, institutional and industrial building construction, and heavy, highway, marine, site development and utility construction.

 

For more than 30 years, Jack has led the Association and has been directly involved in labor negotiations and jurisdiction settlement proceedings statewide with the general construction trades. He serves on a variety of labor/management boards and committees, including the New Jersey Laborers’-Employers’ Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET), the Carpenter Contractor Trust (CCT), the Engineers Labor-Employer Cooperative (ELEC) and the Bricklayers Labor Management Fund.  Jack is co-chair of the New Jersey Building Laborers Statewide Benefit Funds and the Construction Craft Laborers Training and Apprenticeship Fund of New Jersey and Delaware, co-chair of the benefit funds of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, co-chair of the Ironworkers District Council (Philadelphia & Vicinity) and co-chair of the Heavy and General Laborers. He also serves as a management trustee on numerous union fringe benefit funds.

 

Jack is active in public policy initiatives and governmental affairs. He formerly served as director on the New Jersey Economic Development Authority Board and the New Jersey School Construction Corporation Board. Recognized as a leader in the New Jersey construction industry, Jack currently serves as treasurer of the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank and is a member of the Moles.
