CSO's, Green Infrastructure and Stormwater Seminar - April 29, 2013 New Jersey Meadowlands Center

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection held a green infrastructure seminar on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 9:00 am in support of the development of a new strategy for Comprehensive Water Resource Management that integrates several concepts, including the use of green infrastructure for stormwater management planning, asset management, and operation and maintenance.   Because this approach will affect the development of the permit requirements for Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO), specifically the Long Term Control Plan (LTCP), the seminar covered a number of green stormwater infrastructure strategies; how other municipalities and organizations are utilizing green infrastructure to manage their stormwater; and potential funding opportunities for these types of projects.  The integration of green stormwater infrastructure is essential, not only for the development of LTCPs, but also as part of an overall Comprehensive Water Resource Management stormwater management approach.
