The Minister for Justice and Correctional Services (JCS), Advocate Michael Masutha, along with his staff, other South African dignitaries, and staff of the South African Counsular Office, came to VCCO’s Newark office for an afternoon to discuss victims assistance and compensation in New Jersey. Director Lee along with AAG Holl and VCCO managers presented information on how NJ assists victims. Topics covered included the history of victim assistance, statutory foundations and funding sources. Also discussed was the collaboration between government and non-profit agencies and the positive impact compensation has on victims’ lives. |
