Speed Limits For State Roads

Route US 202
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route US 202 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Hunterdon County:
NOTE: State Highway Route US 202 is under the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) from approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.36.
NOTE: State Highway Route US 202 is coincident with State Highway Route NJ 31 from approximate mileposts 5.70 to 11.44.
i. In the Township of Delaware:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission - New Jersey Department of Transportation jurisdictional line and the Delaware Township - City of Lambertville corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.36 to 0.43); thence
ii. In the City of Lambertville:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Delaware Township - City of Lambertville corporate line and the City of Lambertville - West Amwell Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.43 to 0.63); thence
iii. In the Township of West Amwell:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the City of Lambertville - West Amwell Township corporate line and the southernmost West Amwell Township – East Amwell Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.63 to 4.11); thence
(B) Zone 2: 55 MPH between the central East Amwell Township – West Amwell Township corporate line and the northernmost East Amwell Township – West Amwell Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 5.02 to 5.44); thence
iv.  In the Township of East Amwell:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the southernmost East Amwell Township – West Amwell Township corporate line and the central East Amwell Township – West Amwell Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 4.11 to 5.02); thence
(B) Zone 2: 55 MPH between the northernmost West Amwell Township – East Amwell Township corporate line and the southernmost East Amwell Township – Raritan Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 5.44 to 7.18); thence
(2) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the southernmost East Amwell Township – Raritan Township corporate line and the northernmost East Amwell Township – Raritan Township corporate line (Toad Lane) (approximate mileposts 7.18 to 7.33); thence
v. In the Township of Raritan:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the southernmost East Amwell Township – Raritan Township corporate line and the northernmost East Amwell Township – Raritan Township corporate line (Toad Lane) (approximate mileposts 7.18 to 7.33); thence
(2) For both directions of traffic:

(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between the Route US 202-Route NJ 31-Route NJ 12 traffic circle and the northernmost Flemington Borough - Raritan Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 11.44 to 11.54); thence
vi. In the Township of Readington:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Raritan Township - Readington Township corporate line and the Readington Township - Branchburg Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 13.80 to 17.61); thence
2. In Somerset County:
NOTE: State Highway Route US 202 is coincident with State Highway Route US 206 from approximate mileposts 24.43 to 31.51.
i. In the Township of Branchburg:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Readington Township - Branchburg Township corporate line and the Branchburg Township - Bridgewater Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 17.61 to 21.75); thence
ii. In the Township of Bridgewater:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Branchburg Township - Bridgewater Township corporate line and the southernmost Bridgewater Township - Raritan Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 21.75 to 22.86); thence
iii. In the Borough of Raritan:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the southernmost Bridgewater Township - Raritan Borough corporate line and 360 feet south of First Avenue (approximate mileposts 22.86 to 23.83); thence
(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between 360 feet south of First Avenue and the northernmost Raritan Borough - Bridgewater Township corporate line (Route US 202-Route US 206-Route NJ 28 traffic circle) (approximate mileposts 23.83 to 24.43); thence

(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between North Maple Avenue and the Bernards Township - Harding Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 38.92 to 39.08); thence
3. In Morris County:
i. In the Township of Harding:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between the Bernards Township - Harding Township corporate line and 750 feet south of Bailey’s Mill Road (approximate mileposts 39.08 to 39.84); thence
(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between 750 feet south of Bailey’s Mill Road and 570 feet north of Colonial Drive (approximate mileposts 39.84 to 40.21); thence
(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH Between 570 feet north of Colonial Drive and the Harding Township - Morris Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 40.21 to 42.11); thence
ii. In the Township of Morris:

(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between the Morris Township-Morris Plains Borough corporate line and NJ Route 53 intersection, except for 25 MPH when passing through the Morris Plains Borough School zone during recess when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 46.41 to 46.99); thence

v.  In the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between 300 feet north of Crestview Drive and 300 feet south of Spartan Avenue (approximate mileposts 50.03 to 50.63).
