Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 45
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 45 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Salem County:
NOTE: State Highway Route NJ 45 is coincident with State Highway Route US 40 from approximate mileposts 8.80 to 9.44.
i. In the City of Salem:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 25 MPH between Route NJ 49 (Broadway) and Grant Street (County Route 657) (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 0.16); thence
(B) Zone 2: 30 MPH between Grant Street (County Route 657) and the City of Salem - Mannington Township corporate line (Fenwick Creek Bridge) (approximate mileposts 0.16 to 0.43); thence
ii. In the Township of Mannington:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the City of Salem - Mannington Township corporate line (Fenwick Creek Bridge) and First Avenue (approximate mileposts 0.43 to 0.80); thence
(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between First Avenue and 1,850 feet north of Newell Road (approximate mileposts 0.80 to 1.87); thence
(C) Zone 3: 40 MPH between 1,850 feet north of Newell Road and 275 feet south of Hiresdale Avenue (approximate mileposts 1.87 to 2.25); thence
(D) Zone 4: 45 MPH between 275 feet south of Hiresdale Avenue and Dubois Road (approximate mileposts 2.25 to 2.49); thence
(E) Zone 5: 50 MPH between Dubois Road and the Mannington Township – Pilesgrove Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 2.49 to 7.05); thence
iii. In the Township of Pilesgrove:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Mannington Township - Pilesgrove Township corporate line and Bailey Street (County Route 616) (beginning of coincidence with Route US 45) (approximate mileposts 7.05 to 8.80); thence
NOTE: State Highway Route NJ 45 is coincident with State Highway Route US 40 (approximate mileposts 10.02 to 10.67) from approximate mileposts 8.80 to 9.44.  See Route US 40 for speed limits in this section; thence
(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between the northernmost Woodstown Borough - Pilesgrove Township corporate line and Pilesgrove Township - South Harrison Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 10.44 to 12.49); thence
iv. In the Borough of Woodstown:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 30 MPH between Main Street (County Route 672) (end of coincidence with Route US 40) and East Grant Street (approximate mileposts 9.44 to 9.74); thence
(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between East Grant Street and 300 feet south of High Bridge By-Pass Road (approximate mileposts 9.74 to 10.27); thence
(C) Zone 3: 50 MPH between 300 feet south of High Bridge By-Pass Road and the Woodstown Borough - Pilesgrove Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 10.27 to 10.44); thence
2. In Gloucester County:
NOTE: State Highway Route NJ 45 is under county (Gloucester County) jurisdiction from approximate mileposts 17.59 to 18.24, and is also coincident with State Highway Route US 322 from approximate mileposts 17.78 to 18.16.
i. In the Township of South Harrison:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the Pilesgrove Township - South Harrison Township corporate line and South Harrison Township - Harrison Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 12.49 to 16.03); thence
ii. In the Township of Harrison:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 50 MPH between the South Harrison Township - Harrison Township corporate line and 350 feet south of New Street (approximate mileposts 16.03 to 17.07); thence
(B) Zone 2: 35 MPH between 350 feet south of New Street and Route NJ 77 (approximate mileposts 17.07 to 17.40); thence
(C) Zone 3: 30 MPH between Route NJ 77 and the southernmost New Jersey Department of Transportation – Gloucester County jurisdictional line (approximate mileposts 17.40 to 17.59); thence
(D) Zone 4: 35 MPH between the northernmost New Jersey Department of Transportation – Gloucester County jurisdictional line and 200 feet north of Colson Lane, except for 25 MPH when passing through the Harrison Township school zone during recess, when the presence of children is clearly visible from the roadway or while children are going to or leaving school, during opening or closing hours (approximate mileposts 18.24 to 18.54); thence

(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between 800 feet north of Wingate Road (County Route 624) and 100 feet south of Valley View Drive (approximate mileposts 19.50 to 20.97); thence
(C) Zone 3: 45 MPH between 100 feet south of Valley View Drive and Barry Drive (approximate mileposts 20.97 to 22.21); thence
(D) Zone 4: 40 MPH between Barry Drive and Chestnut Street (approximate mileposts 22.21 to 22.47); thence

(B) Zone 2: 45 MPH between Elm Avenue (County Route 652) and Evergreen Avenue (County Route 650) (approximate mileposts 24.40 to 24.90); thence
(C) Zone 3: 40 MPH between Evergreen Avenue (County Route 650) and the Woodbury Heights Borough – City of Woodbury corporate line (approximate mileposts 24.90 to 24.93); thence
vii.  In the City of Woodbury:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Woodbury Heights Borough – City of Woodbury corporate line and Stuart Street (approximate mileposts 24.93 to 25.20); thence
(B) Zone 2: 30 MPH between Stuart Street and Carpenter Street (approximate mileposts 25.20 to 25.49); thence
(C) Zone 3: 25 MPH between Carpenter Street and Hunter Street (approximate mileposts 25.49 to 26.04); thence
