Mitchell C. Sklar is the Executive Director of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), one of the largest police executive organizations in the country. Additionally, he serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the NJSACOP Certification Committee, and represents the association before the New Jersey Legislature. 

Prior to joining the NJSACOP, Mr. Sklar served as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg.  He also served as Director of Government Relations for the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors in Washington, DC, an Assistant Municipal Court Prosecutor in New Jersey, a Judicial Law Clerk in the New Jersey Superior Court, and an attorney in private practice. 

Mr. Sklar received his J.D. from Rutgers University of Law-Camden, and a B.A. in Politics and Government from the University of Hartford.  He is an active member of various local, national, and international law enforcement organizations.
