We have recently migrated to the Microsoft Office 365 enterprise email platform thus changing the format of our email addresses.  Currently we use firstname.lastname@dep.state.nj.us as our email address standard.  This has been changed to firstname.lastname@dep.nj.gov.  Note the change is only to the domain suffix (the portion after the "@"). 

Addresses using the current format will be valid for at least one year, however, after that time, those addresses will be retired and no longer work.
