Request a Ride
If you need help getting around New Jersey, you may be eligible for:
- Access Link ADA Paratransit – A public shared-ride system for individuals with disabilities that picks you up and drops you off within your paratransit service area. Service hours resemble NJ TRANSIT's bus and light rail system.
- ModivCare – You can get a ride to non-emergency medical appointments anywhere in the state if you have NJ FamilyCare.
Learn more about program eligibility and how to apply below.
Access Link ADA Paratransit
Access Link is for people with disabilities who are unable to use the NJ TRANSIT bus or light rail system.
Access Link will pick you up and drop you off if you are within ¾ of a mile of a NJ TRANSIT bus or light rail route. Like the bus, other riders may be picked up and dropped off on the way to your destination.
Drivers can help you get on and off the vehicle. Drivers can also help you get from your house to the bus, but this is done on a case-by-case basis and you need to ask ahead when scheduling a ride.
The cost is similar to what you would pay for a bus ride including any zones or transfers. For information about standard fares, visit Plan Your Trip - NJ TRANSIT.
The first step to apply for Access Link is a phone interview where your eligibility will be determined. You will be asked about any disabilities and how they impact your use of the existing NJ TRANSIT system. You will also need to provide medical verification of any disabilities.
To apply for Access Link, call 1-973-491-4224 and press 1 to request a phone interview.
To learn more about the program, visit NJ TRANSIT's Access Link program page.
