Deal or No Deal at Paramus

At the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Paramus, a familiar phrase has been echoing through the halls as residents gather to try their luck and outsmart the dealer during one of the facility’s most popular activities.

Held regularly, the home’s version of “Deal or No Deal” continues to draw enthusiastic participation, with residents eagerly selecting their cases and weighing the big decision of accepting the deal or holding out for something more. Modeled after the well-known game show, the April 6, 2026 event brought energy and excitement as participants competed for a variety of prizes, including shirts, cookies, "Veteran Bucks", and more.

The atmosphere is filled with anticipation and laughter as residents cheer each other on, celebrate wins, and share in the suspense of every round. While the prizes add to the excitement, the true highlight is the camaraderie and shared experience that brings residents together.

Staff play an essential role in creating an engaging and interactive environment, transforming a game many may have once watched from their rooms into a lively, communal event. This intentional approach helps foster connection and reinforces the recreation team’s commitment to building meaningful social opportunities for residents.

Activities like “Deal or No Deal” demonstrate the importance of engagement, connection, and joy within the Veterans Home. Whether taking a chance at a big prize or simply enjoying the show, every resident walks away a winner.
