Office of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action
This office is responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating the implementation of the Equal Opportunity, Affirmation Action and Title VI programs of the Department. The EEO/AA Officer consults with employees providing guidance to ensure a work environment free from all forms of discrimination and educates employees on their rights and responsibilities under State’s policy. The Office of EEO/AA & Equity Compliance evaluates, investigates and resolves complaints of discrimination.
If you believe that a Department of Education employee may have violated the State's Policy, and you are also a Department of Education employee, applicant for a position or employment opportunity with the Department of Education, or other individual doing business with the Department of Education, you may file a complaint of alleged discrimination or harassment with Bulisa (Ky) Sanders by completing the Discrimination Complaint Processing Form.
In addition to filing an internal complaint, individuals have the right to file a complaint of alleged discrimination and/or harassment simultaneously with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and/or the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR). Please be advised that both the EEOC and DCR have time limits on when complaints may be filed. For additional information, please visit http://www.eeoc.gov and http://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcr/index.html.
