Fee Holiday Process

All certification and credentialing fees processed by the Office of Recruitment, Preparation and Certification are waived for the period beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024 thanks to the new state budget and legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy. Praxis test and transcript fees will not be waived. 

When submitting payment, copy and paste the following information:

  • Credit Card Code: 4242424242424242
  • Expiration Month: 07 - July
  • Expiration Year: 2024
  • Security Code: 724
  • Name on Card: First Last

Notes:

  1. Status of Pending Payment: If your application is marked with the status "Pending Payment," complete the payment process outlined below and submit all required documentation.
  2. Credit Card Information: If you entered your personal credit card information when submitting payment, you will not be charged.
  3. Transaction Summary: The transaction summary may indicate a fee. There is no charge or transaction applied while the Fee Holiday is in effect.

Applications Paid for Before July 1, 2023

Regulations do not allow the Office of Recruitment, Preparation and Certification to offer refunds. No refunds will be given if you applied and paid before the Fee Holiday went into effect on July 1, 2023.

Certification application fees will be waived for the following certificates and credentials.

Certificates

  • Administrative
  • Career and Technical Education
  • Educational Services
  • Instructional

Credentials

  • Chiropractor
  • Mortuary
  • Substitute

How to Pay During the Fee Holiday

To complete payment on a certification application during the Fee Holiday period:

  1. Log in to NJEdCert. Note that your username is the email address you used to create your account.
  2. Click on the "My Cases" tab.
  3. Click on the Case Number that is marked with the status "Pending Payment."

  4. Click on the "Payment" tab.

  5. Review the information on the screen and click the "Continue" button.

  6. Click on the "Continue" button.

  7. Complete the required fields in the customer information section and click the "Next" button.

  8. Enter the following information in the Payment Information section:
      • Credit Card Code: 4242424242424242
      • Expiration Month: 07 - July
      • Expiration Year: 2024
      • Security Code: 724
      • Name on Card: First Last
  9. Note: The transaction summary may indicate a fee. You will not be charged this fee during the fee holiday period.

  10. Click the "Next" Button.
  11. Review the information to ensure it is correct. You can update information using the "Edit" buttons.
  12. Click the "Submit Payment" button.

  13. You may receive a pop-up stating "Please Wait. Your Payment is being processed. Please do not close your tab or window, and please do not use your Browser's Back button."
  14. Once the payment is processed, the "Pending Payment" section of the progress bar will change to a green check mark.
