Auxiliary and Remedial Services for Nonpublic Schools (Chapters 192 and 193)
New Jersey's Chapter 192 programs and Chapter 193 programs are provided to eligible students enrolled full-time in nonpublic elementary and secondary schools in New Jersey.
Chapter 192 programs provide auxiliary services such as:
- Compensatory education
- English language learning
- Home instruction
Chapter 193 programs provide remedial services such as:
- Evaluation and determination of eligibility for special education
- Supplemental instruction

Funding Eligiblity
To receive Chapter 192/193 funding:
- The nonpublic school must be registered.
- The district of location must request services.
Sectarian Nonpublic Schools
- Instructional services must be supervised by the public school district or service provider staff.
- Religious instruction cannot be introduced.
- Staff providing services must be employees or contractors of the public school district.
