Governor Murphy Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of U.S. Senator Bob Dole
TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags remain at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities through sunset on Thursday, December 9, 2021 to honor the passing of U.S. Senator Bob Dole.
“Senator Dole was an American hero and a member of our greatest generation who so often reached across the aisle in politics to do what was right for our nation,” said Governor Murphy. “He was a fiercely proud Republican, but he was an even prouder American. There’s a lot to be learned from his example, for all of us. Tammy and I’s thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”
