Governor Murphy Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Former Assemblyman Francis Bodine
TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags fly at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in recognition and remembrance of Assemblyman Francis “Fran” L. Bodine, who served in the General Assembly from 1994 to 2008. Assemblyman Bodine passed away in January.
“As we mourn the passing of Assemblyman Bodine, we recognize and honor his legacy as an elected official and his commitment to Burlington County and the State of New Jersey,” said Governor Murphy. “We must also remember him not only for his lifetime of public service, which included service in the U.S. Army, but also for his generosity and guidance. During his time in the General Assembly, Assemblyman Bodine sponsored critical transportation funding legislation and worked to expand senior health care and farmland preservation. His legacy will live on as New Jersey continues to advance our transportation infrastructure, health care access, and land preservation goals. Tammy and I send our deepest condolences to his family.”
