New Jersey State Regulations
New Jersey State regulations, also called rules, implement the statutes that are the legal basis for operating State programs and services. Rules utilized by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) are codified at Title 10 of the New Jersey Administrative Code.
The New Jersey Administrative Code, an official publication of the State of New Jersey, compiles all effective rules adopted by State agencies and filed with the Office of Administrative Law.
The New Jersey Administrative Code is available from LexisNexis, the publisher licensed by the NJ Office of Administrative Law. A searchable online version of the Code is available at LexisNexis. LexisNexis provides free on-line public access to the New Jersey Administrative Code and the New Jersey Register at https://www.state.nj.us/oal/rules/accessp/.
Copies of current DMHAS rules, rule proposals and adoptions, and public notices are provided by DHS on the DHS website as a courtesy and are not the official versions. See links below. Though every effort is made to ensure that the text provided there is identical to the official, legally effective versions of the rules or notices, if any discrepancies exist between the text at this website and the official version of the rules or notices, the official version will govern.
