1. MEMBERS OF THE 444TH PUBLIC AFFAIRS DETACHMENT (PAD) AND THE 150TH PERSONNEL SERVICES BATTALION (PSB) WERE ORDERED TO FEDERAL ACTIVE DUTY.

2. THE 5-117TH CAVALRY SQUADRON HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO FEDERAL ACTIVE DUTY.

3. CSM VINCENT BALDASSARI MEMORIAL AND USAA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM (EANGNJ)

4. NEW JERSEY AIR NATIONAL GUARD AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED.

5. ARMY KNOWLEDGE ONLINE (AKO) HAS A LINK TO SMARTFORCE, AN ARMY DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM.

6. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE, VIETNAM SERVICE, AND MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL PRESENTATION CEREMONIES ARE SCHEDULED.

1. MEMBERS OF THE 444TH PUBLIC AFFAIRS DETACHMENT (PAD) AND THE 150TH PERSONNEL SERVICES BATTALION (PSB) WERE ORDERED TO FEDERAL ACTIVE DUTY in support of Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom for a period of 365 days and will initially be stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

2. THE 5-117TH CAVALRY SQUADRON HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO FEDERAL ACTIVE DUTY this week and will deploy to Fort Drum on 1-2 February 2003 for training. Their duty assignment is to provide force protection at both McGuire Air Force Base and at the Atlantic City Air National Guard Base.

3. CSM VINCENT BALDASSARI MEMORIAL AND USAA SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM (EANGNJ). The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of New Jersey will sponsor five scholarships of $1000 each for children of members of the Association and drilling members of the New Jersey National Guard (Army or Air) who are also members of the Association. Additionally, USAA will sponsor one $1000 scholarship for a drilling member. Applicants must be either a high school senior with scheduled entrance to a college, university, trade or business school, or currently be enrolled in same. To receive the award, verification will be required showing enrollment has commenced or is current. All awards are sent directly to the recipient. Applicants must complete the appropriate application in its entirety with all required and prescribed documents. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply. Individuals who previously applied, but were not selected are encouraged to apply for the 2003 program. The deadline for application submission is 15 April 2003. Mail applications to:

ARMY KNOWLEDGE ONLINE (AKO) HAS A LINK TO SMARTFORCE, AN ARMY DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM. Some of the programs available are: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. There are also programs to increase business, leadership, and management skills. AKO is restricted to uniformed members of the Armed Forces and Department of the Army civilians. You can register at the AKO website, www.us.army.mil.

4. NEW JERSEY AIR NATIONAL GUARD AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED.
¨ SMSgt Roxanne Ryan, 108th ARW, was selected as Air National Guard Region V Human Resource Advisor of the Year. SMSgt Ryan’s accomplishments during the Year 2002 were outstanding and recognized by the selection committee. She will represent Region V for the National Human Resource Advisor of the Year Award. It is because of committed Human Resource Advisors like SMSgt Ryan that our diversity Journey is a success.
¨ MSgt Michael Francis of the 177th Fighter Wing is being recognized as ANG Satellite NCOA Instructor of the Year. This award is part of the College for Enlisted Professional Military Education (CEPME) Fourth Annual Awards program.

5. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE, VIETNAM SERVICE, AND MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL PRESENTATION CEREMONIES ARE SCHEDULED.
