Safety
A comprehensive safety policy is essential for tree care companies, reflecting the company’s commitment to employee and public safety. It must clearly define safety responsibilities, include a confidential reporting system, and comply with industry standards like ANSI Z133 and applicable OSHA regulations. The policy should be communicated to all employees, signed by management, regularly updated, and visibly posted. Supervisors are held accountable, and consistent enforcement and training are required. Registered businesses must develop and submit this policy within 90 days of registration to the New Jersey Board of Tree Experts. This living document fosters a strong safety culture, reducing risks and ensuring ongoing compliance and protection.
