NJMIHIA Community Based Doula Training Initiative

The NJMIHIA is currently collaborating with the NJ Department of Human Services (DHS), Rutgers Institute for Families (IFF), and a diverse doula advisory committee to develop a New Jersey-specific doula curriculum, assessment tool, facilitation program, and marketing & promotional materials. This work is being done to foster the expansion of a culturally responsive, scalable, and professionalized doula workforce dedicated to improving perinatal health, experiences, and outcomes - particularly for New Jersey’s women of color. This expanded workforce will be well-prepared to meet the needs of NJ FamilyCare clients.
