PVSC recently hosted the AmeriCorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors visit at our Skimmer Vessel Dock recently on the Passaic River in North Arlington. The program is administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Water Monitoring and Standards.

The Ambassadors have played an important role in raising awareness of how human activities can affect water quality. The objective of hosting their visit was to showcase the various efforts the agency makes to improve the health of the environment and make the Passaic River more inviting and appealing for everyone. They also constructed two-dozen birdhouses and hung them on and around our dock.
