Summer EBT

  • To confirm if your child is eligible to receive a NJ Summer EBT benefit card this summer, use the Summer EBT Student Eligibility Look-Up Tool.

  • If your child attends an NSLP/SBP-participating school, contact the school to confirm the address where your child’s card was mailed.

If your child does not attend an NSLP/SBP-participating school, or is home-schooled, but your household participates in SNAP, TANF, income-eligible Medicaid, or Foster Care at any point between July 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026 and your child is between the ages of 6-16 years old, contact your local county social service agency to update your child’s address.

Yes. If you moved or plan to move within the state, contact the school district last attended by your child to update your address as soon as possible. This helps ensure your child’s Summer EBT card is sent to the correct location. You may also contact DFNSummerEBT@ag.nj.gov for further instructions.

The State of New Jersey will mail Summer EBT cards in June. If you moved out of state at the end of the school year, contact DFNSummerEBT@ag.nj.gov for instructions.

If your Summer EBT card has been lost, stolen or damaged, and the benefits on the card have not been used, it is important to immediately cancel your card. You can cancel your card by using the ConnectEBT app on your mobile device; online at EBT Connect Client Portal or by calling 1-800-997-3333. This will “freeze” your card so no one can use your benefits. You may be asked to verify your identity. There may be a $1.50 fee for replacement Summer EBT cards.

If your Summer EBT card has been stolen, and the benefits on the card have been used fraudulently, the state is not able to replace these benefits as federal regulations do not allow for the replacement of stolen Summer EBT benefits.

If you suspect your PIN was stolen, you can call 1-800-997-3333, go to www.NJFamiliesFirst.com or download the ConnectEBT app in the Apple App store or Google Play store to review your transactions and/or change your PIN to protect any remaining benefits.

  • Do not share your PIN with anyone.

  • Do not write your PIN on your card or card holder. Also, do not carry the number with you in your purse or wallet.

  • If you cannot find your card or if you think someone knows your PIN, immediately call 1- 800-997-3333.

  • Keep your card away from electronic equipment (TVs and microwaves), magnets, and out of the sun.

  • Keep your NJ Summer EBT card locked when you are not using it to protect the benefits on your card. When you are in a store and ready to use your card, you can unlock it to use your benefits and lock it again when you are done. For more information and additional instructions, click here.

If you need to replace your Summer EBT card you can call 1-800-997-3333 to cancel your existing card and to order a replacement card.

If you receive more than one Summer EBT card, or more than $120 per eligible child, do not use the benefits and immediately contact DFNSummerEBT@ag.nj.gov. If it is confirmed by the State agency that the card was received in error, the benefits will be cancelled and the card should be destroyed.

Households that are erroneously issued duplicate benefits from more than one State should only use benefits from the State where their child(ren) completed the instructional year immediately preceding the summer operational period. Under no circumstances may they use both.
