The State’s Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Action Plan was approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on April 29, 2013. This plan and its amendments detail how the State is spending the $4.17 billion in federal CDBG-DR funds it received for eligible Superstorm Sandy disaster recovery and rebuilding activities. The documents describe the State’s use of CDBG-DR funds, including criteria for eligibility and how these funds will address disaster relief, long-term recovery, restoration of infrastructure, and housing and economic revitalization in the most impacted and distressed areas.

STATE OF NEW JERSEY VCA CONSULTATION WITH PUBLIC AND ASSISTED HOUSING OWNERS

CONSULTA DEL ESTADO DE NEW JERSEY A PROPIETARIOS EN VIVIENDA PÚBLICA Y ASISTIDA ACERCA DEL ACUERDO DE CUMPLIMIENTO VOLUNTARIO

As part of the Voluntary Compliance Agreement (VCA) between the State of New Jersey and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the State has recently contacted more than 900 Public Housing Authorities and owners of federally assisted rental properties to survey the unrepaired damage that may remain as a result of Superstorm Sandy. The survey results will be used to shape the policies which will govern the administration and future allocations for the Fund for Restoration of Multifamily Housing – Public and Housing Authority Set Aside. A summary of the survey results is posted immediately below in English and Spanish. The survey results are initial, are self-reported by entities who responded to the survey, and have not been verified. Also, the survey results are not a commitment of CDBG Disaster Recovery funding as other monies beyond CDBG Disaster Recovery may be available to these projects.
