Current Opening and Closings Statewide

Hurricane Sandy Update

Leonardo State Marina - partially open


Allaire State Park: Allaire Village, Pine Creek Railroad, group campsites and most family campsites are open. The following trails are open: Capital to the Coast Bike Trail, South Side Trails, most of the Orange, Green and Red Trails.The Picnic Area, Yellow Trail, Brisbane Loop, Group Camp site Trail(Pink Trail) all still remain closed.

Allamuchy Mountain State Park: Open

Barnegat Lighthouse State Park:Open

Bass River State Forest: Open

Belleplain State forest: Open

Brendan T. Byrne State Forest: Open

Bull’s Island: Bulls Island day use area and Main Office is open and park users can access the pedestrian foot bridge into Pennsylvania. The Feeder Canal towpath is open.  All boat launches and river accesses are open.  The Bulls Island Natural Area Trail, White Oak Trail and Frenchtown Preserve trails remain CLOSED.

Cape May Point State Park: Open

Cheesequake State Park: Day use open. Green and Blue trails partially opened with detours, Red Trail open.

Corson's Inlet State Park: Open

Double Trouble State Park: Open with the following exceptions: Carriage Road is closed south of White Bridge due to storm damage.

D&R Canal State Park: Open

Farney State Park: Open

Forked River State Marina: Open

Fort Mott State Park: Open

Grover Cleveland Historic Birthplace: Open

Hacklebarney State Park: Open; the parking lot and restrooms are open.Trails are open to an extent.  Where impassable, they are marked with "area closed beyond this point" signs.

High Point State Park: Open

Hopatcong State Park: Day Use Area open;

Indian King Tavern Historic Site: Open

Island Beach State Park: Partially Reopened; Ocean Bathing Area is open for walking and four-wheel drive access is available at Gillikin's Road and Ocean Bathing Area 1. All areas south of Ocean Bathing Area 1 remain closed. All restrooms are closed but portable comfort stations are located at Ocean Bathing Area 1 parking lot.

Jenny Jump State Forest: Day use area open; Ghost Lake Trail is closed

Kittatinny Valley State Park: Day Use Area open; Sussex Branch Trail open from Route 206 in Andover to Route 206 in Branchville, all other trails remain closed, call park office for detailed information. Major tree work to be done. Many trees down at Mt. Paul.

Liberty State Park: The following areas are open: 9/11 Memorial, the Grove of Remembrance and certain passive recreation portions of the park.

Long Pond Ironworks State Park: The following trails are open: Burnt Meadow Trail, Horse Pond Mountain Trail
Jungle Habitat Section - all trails open except “Dump Truck Hill” section of Yellow Trail, north of gas pipeline
Red Trail, White Trail, Orange Trail, Yellow Trail south of gas pipeline.

Monmouth Battlefield State Park: Open

Norvin Green State Forest: The following trails are open: Manaticut Point Trail, Overlook Rock Trail (southern section) (South), Hewitt Butler Trail/Highlands Trail between Otterhole Rd./Glenwild Ave. and Carris Hill, Hewitt Butler Trail between Otterhole Rd./Glenwild Ave. and Osio Rock, Highlands Trail/ Wyanokie Circular between Townsend Rd. and Wyanokie High Point, Posts Brook Trail between Hewitt Butler Trail and Chikahoki Falls and Carris Hill Trail.

Parvin State Park: Open

Princeton Battlefied/Thomas Clarke: Open

Ramapo Mountain State Forest: the following trails are open: Cannonball Trail north of Skyline Drive & south of Skyline Drive to McEvoy Trail (closed between McEvoy and Hoeferlin intersection south of 287), Cannonball Trail between Barbara Drive and intersection with Hoeferlin Trail, Hoeferlin Trail north of Skyline Drive & south of Skyline Drive to McEvoy Trail (closed between McEvoy & Cannonball), Hoeferlin Trail between Pool Hollow Rd. and intersection with Cannonball Trail, Ringwood-Ramapo Trail north of Skyline Drive to Shepherd Lake, Castle Point Trail and Wanaque Ridge Trail.

Rancocas State Park: Open

Ringwood State Park: Open; Brushwood Fire Roads, Race Trail/ RVCC mountain Bike Loop, Ringwood-Ramapo Trail between Shepherd Lake and Skylands trails are open, please contact the park office for more information.

Rockingham Historic Site: Open

Round Valley Recreation use: Day Use area is open. Campground closed. The Hike and Bike Family Trail, Pine Tree Trail and Water Trail have reopened; the Cushetunk Trail remains closed.

Six Mile Run: Open

Spruce Run Recreation Area: Open

Stephens State Park: Open

Stokes State Forest: All roads within Stokes are opened. Shotwell campsites and Lean-tos are now opened. Steam Mill campsites will re-open 11/16/12. Cabins 3, 8 & 16 are closed for the season due to storm damage.  The rest of the cabins at Lake Ocquittunk will re-open 11/16/12. The following campsites at Lake Ocquittunk are closed 1, 13, 14, 20 & 24 until further notice.

Swartswood State Park: Day Use Area open; Campsites 1-20 open; Duck Pond Trail, Spring Lake Trail and Bear Claw trail are opened. All other trails remain closed.

Twin Lights Historic Site: Open

Voorhees State Park: Open

Wallace House/Old Dutch Parsonage: Open

Walt Whitman House Historic Site: Open

Washington Crossing State Park: Open (The green and yellow dot trails have been cleared; all other hiking trails remain closed due to hazardous trees).

Waterloo Village: Open

Wawayanda State Park: Day use is open.  The following trails are closed. Appalachian, Cedar Swamp, Terrace Pond Red, Bearfort Waters/Clinton, Spring North, Terrace Pond North, ENTIRE AS HEWITT STATE FOREST TRAIL SYSTEM. (Please contact the park office for more information).

Wharton State Forest: Open; Atsion Recreation area is closed due to winter Schedule. Goshen Pond is open

Worthington State Forest: Open
