The Donated Leave Program enables employees to help co-workers affected by catastrophic health conditions or injuries, or those who are caring for family members by donating sick or vacation days.
In order to be eligible for donations, an employee must have their agency's approval and the health condition must be life-threatening or involve an absence of 60 or more work days. Employees may donate up to 30 sick or vacation days to each employee who is eligible.
Local government agencies may establish donated leave programs with the Civil Service Commission’s approval.
Employees can contact their agency’s Human Resource Officer for complete details.
