DRAFT FOOD WASTE REDUCTION PLAN





The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Division of Solid & Hazardous Waste hereby gives notice that it is developing a plan pursuant to N.J.S.A 13:1E-226 et seq. (P.L. 2017, c.136) to reduce the amount of food waste generated annually in the State based on 2017 generation by 50 percent by 2030. The draft plan is available for review by clicking the link below. The public is invited to comment on the draft plan. All comments must be submitted to DEP in writing by mail to the address below or electronically to reducefoodwaste@dep.nj.gov prior to the close of the comment period.

The public comment period on the draft food waste reduction plan begins on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 and will end on
Friday, September 27, 2019.
