This July, DRBC staff participated in a couple of community outreach events, both taking place alongside the Delaware River. Staff enjoys getting out and engaging with our partners, publics and stakeholders, educating about clean water and how we work to manage, protect and improve the Basin's shared water resources.
Connecting with folks throughout the Basin is important, not just to inform about what we do, but to talk about what they too can do to help keep our waters healthy and sustainable. We all need to work together to protect our shared water resources.
Thanks to the organizers for their planning and hosting efforts - we appreciate being a part of these fun, free and family-focused events!
Zane Grey Festival: Lackawaxen, Pa.
The 20th Annual Zane Grey Festival was held at the Zane Grey Museum in Lackawaxen, Pa. Hosted by the National Park Service Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, the Zane Grey Festival celebrates Western novelist Zane Grey, who spent time in Lackawaxen writing some of his most famous works. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed connecting with our Upper Delaware partners and talking with attendees about our water quality and water resources resilience work.
Glen Foerd Riverfest: Philadelphia, Pa.
Glen Foerd, a DRBC Our Shared Waters Partner, hosted Riverfest on its gorgeous grounds along the Delaware River in Philadelphia, Pa. The festival offered free boating on the Poquessing Creek and the Delaware River, archery, educational tables and tours of the historic riverfront mansion. Staff enjoyed participating and catching up with local partners and community members, chatting about our water resources management work.
