Summer Institute
2026 Summer Institute
We are pleased to invite all New Jersey educators to the 2026 Summer Institute. The institute will be held both in-person and virtually at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, from July 28 -30, 2026. Please confirm your registration as soon as possible, as space is limited for both daily commuters and residents on the Kean University campus. Registration will close on June 15, 2026. In-person attendance is limited to the first 175 confirmed registrants. Please open the link below to register.
In 2025, the Amistad Commission held its Summer Curriculum Institute for Teachers at Stockton University-Ocean Campus in Atlantic City, New Jersey, August 4 - 7, 2025. The Commission’s theme was “Moving Forward/Preserving our Past: Revolution, Reaction and Reform." Please take a look at the program, images, and video from the event.
In 2024, the Amistad Commission held its Summer Curriculum Institute for Teachers at the College of New Jersey, July 29-August 1, 2024. The Commission’s theme was “Reimagining Our Purpose: Rights & Responsibilities in History." Please take a look at the program, images, and video from the event.
In 2023, the Amistad Commission held its Inaugural Summer Curriculum Institute for Teachers at William Paterson University (WPUNJ) in Wayne, NJ, July 17-July 20, 2023.
