Authorized to Teach

The Drafting and Design Technology #2544 endorsement entitles the holder to teach in New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE)-approved career and technical education (CTE) courses in the following programs, and programs of study under the following Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes.

Employment experience requirements can be met using one of the following:

  • Drafting
  • Engineering principles for building science
  • Foundation architectural design

Candidates must submit a copy of their current architect license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Architects Individuals holding an architect license or other applicable license issued by a state, county, municipality or government agency other than the New Jersey State Board of Architects will not meet the New Jersey licensure requirement.

Employment experience is only required if the candidate is obtaining certification using one of the following:

Candidates using option 1 without the GPA exception are not required to have employment experience.
