Authorized to Teach
The Dental Assisting #4122 endorsement entitles the holder to teach in New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE)-approved career and technical education (CTE) courses in the following programs, and programs of study under the following Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes.

- Dental hygiene
- Dental materials and instruments
- Dental pharmacology
- Dental radiographic interpretation
- Dental radiology
- Infection control for the dental assistant

- Preventive dentistry
Candidates must submit a copy of their current New Jersey occupational license or credential for one of the following options:
- Option One
- A current copy of their New Jersey State Registered Dental Assistant Certificate and New Jersey State Dental Radiologic Technologist License.
- Option Two
- A current copy of their New Jersey State Limited Registered Dental Assistant in Orthodontics Certificate and New Jersey State Dental Radiologic Technologist License.
- Option Three
- A current copy of their New Jersey Registered Dental Hygienist License.
- Option Four
- A current copy of their New Jersey Dental License.

Employment experience is only required if the candidate is obtaining certification using one of the following:
- Grade point average (GPA) exception under Option 1: Bachelor's Degree or Higher
- Option 2: Associate Degree with Employment Experience
- Option 3: Employment Experience Only
Candidates using option 1 without the GPA exception are not required to have employment experience.
