School Orientation and Mobility Specialist Standard Certificate

The School Orientation and Mobility Specialist endorsement authorizes the holder to serve as an orientation and mobility instructor to blind and visually impaired students in public schools in preschool through grade 12.
To be eligible for the School Orientation and Mobility Specialist standard certificate, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
Degree Requirement
Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Certificate Requirement
Hold a valid Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification issued by the Academy for the Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP) or have successfully matriculated through a university program approved by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board (NBPCB).
