This presentation focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) tools that help students and their teachers find fiction and informational texts that match student interests and learning goals. It will demonstrate how AI can help integrate interest-based independent reading and assist in assessing reading comprehension when each student is reading something different. It will also look at how AI can help students work with research and informational texts that are above their reading comfort level. It will address why it is important to work with information from research databases instead of the free Internet and how AI can be used to ensure that information is accessible.
