New Jersey Food Security 3-Year Strategic Plan
Food security is a complex, multi-dimensional social condition shaped by economic, social, environmental, and policy factors. This three-year, statewide New Jersey Food Security Strategic Plan establishes a shared framework to guide coordinated action across sectors and levels of government. Grounded in the six dimensions of food security (availability, access, utilization, stability, agency, and sustainability) the Strategic Plan outlines focus areas and strategies designed to align efforts, support data-informed decision-making, and advance equitable, long-term solutions. The Strategic Plan is intended to serve as a flexible roadmap for partners across New Jersey, recognizing that implementation approaches may vary based on local context, assets, and priorities.
All sectors, coalitions, and entities across New Jersey can use this Strategic Plan as a guiding framework to align policies, programs, funding, and partnerships; identify priority strategies relevant to capacity, role, or sector; and inform planning efforts related to advancing food security.
In early 2026, the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate ( OFSA) will release implementation resources to support partners in putting the Strategic Plan into action. Sign up here to receive updates on implementation resources, toolkits, and commitment opportunities as they are released.
