TRENTON – Governor Mikie Sherrill today lifted the State of Emergency declared in Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties through Executive Order No. 25, effective at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, in response to the nor'easter that impacted the state.

"This nor'easter brought serious challenges to communities across our state, especially along the shore, where the Department of Environmental Protection is already working to address beach erosion and protect our coastline," said Governor Sherrill. "Throughout the storm, New Jerseyans looked out for one another, and I'm grateful to our state workers, first responders, and utility crews for their around-the-clock response. Lifting the State of Emergency doesn't mean our work is done. We're staying focused on the families and communities still recovering, and we'll be with them every step of the way."

With the signing of Executive Order No. 26, the State of Emergency was terminated across all eight counties, effective today, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
