Health Commissioner Attends Motor Vehicle Commission Employee Blood Drive

On Wednesday, July 11, as part of the New Jersey Department of Health's ongoing Summer Blood Drive Campaign, Health Commissioner Mary E. O'Dowd will join Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Chief Administrator Raymond Martinez at a MVC blood drive to thank employees who are donating blood.

The blood drive will take place at the MVC Trenton Office Complex, 225 East State St., 8th Floor, Trenton at 10am.

Commissioner O'Dowd launched the Summer Blood Drive Campaign, entitled The Need for Blood Doesn't Take a Vacation, in May to alleviate the blood shortage experienced between Memorial and Labor Day-when families typically vacation.

As part of this campaign, the Commissioner has called on businesses and state agencies to hold more workplace blood drives because they make it convenient for employees to donate.

For more information on the need for increased blood donation in our state and where to donate please visit www.njsave3lives.com.
