Media Advisory - Health Commissioner to Address Maternal and Child Health Advocates

On March 13, New Jersey Health Commissioner Mary E. O'Dowd will deliver remarks at the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium Annual Meeting.  Commissioner O'Dowd will speak about investments proposed in Governor Christie's Fiscal Year 2014 budget, including a $1.6 million increase in the Department's Newborn Screening Program.  Commissioner O'Dowd will also update the group on the Department's efforts to help New Jerseyans recover from Sandy.

The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza, 390 Forsgate Drive, in Monroe at 9am.  Commissioner O'Dowd will speak at 9:15am.  Deputy Commissioner Arturo Brito will also speak at this event.

The Central Jersey Family Health Consortium, Inc. (CJFHC) is a leading private not for profit (501(c) 3) organization serving Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the Plainfield portion of Union County. Established in 1992, the organization is governed by a 48-member Board of Trustees. Its mission is to improve the health of women of childbearing age, infants, and children in the region through the collaborative efforts of member hospitals, providers, and consumers.
