Deputy Health Commissioner Visits Newark Back-to-School Immunization Clinic

Highlight August as National Immunization Awareness Month

On Wednesday August 28, New Jersey Deputy Health Commissioner Dr. Arturo Brito will visit the City of Newark's "School Bus Express" free immunization program for city youth.

Deputy Commissioner Brito will join the City of Newark Director of Child and Family Well-Being L'Tanya Williamson to greet Newark families and children as they get immunized. The City's "School Bus Express" program is an annual drive to ensure that Newark children of school age are properly immunized before attending school.

Dr. Brito will visit the immunization program on August 28, at 10 a.m., at the Department of Child and Family Well-Being, located at 110 William Street, in Newark's Central Ward.

Each year in August, the Department celebrates National Immunization Awareness Month, which provides an opportunity to encourage all people to get immunized against infectious diseases.
