New Jersey EMS Task Force Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Exhibition of Emergency Equipment and Response Capabilities
For Emergency Preparedness Month
The New Jersey EMS Task Force, a statewide organization created in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, will mark its 10th anniversary with a major exhibit of statewide equipment and response capabilities on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at the NJ Convention & Exhibition Center, Edison.
The EMS Task Force is a team of more than 200 EMS personnel statewide trained to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Over the last decade, it has responded to SuperStorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene and the crash of US Airways Flight 1549. It has also provided EMS resources at such planned events as the New Jersey Marathon, the Warped Tour concerts, the NJ Balloon Festival and Super Bowel 48.
The anniversary event will feature a display of all assets of the NJ EMS Task Force, which includes a variety of emergency response vehicles raging from a dozen medical ambulance buses, communications and command vehicles, and a full-scale, hospital-style mobile emergency department.
What: The NJ EMS Task Force, which consists of more than 200 EMS professionals, was created in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to respond to man-made and natural disasters around the state. It is celebrating its 10th anniversary during Emergency Preparedness Month.
Where: The NJ Convention & Exposition Center, Raritan Center, Edison.
When: Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Who: EMS officials and members of the New Jersey EMS Task Force will exhibit emergency vehicles and equipment and demonstrate response capabilities.
