Media Advisory: NJ Department of Health Principal Deputy Commissioner Visits Rutgers University to Promote Flu Vaccination
Reminding Residents: Don’t Wait, Vaccinate!
On Tuesday, November 13, New Jersey Department of Health Principal Deputy Commissioner Jackie Cornell will visit Rutgers University, Busch Student Center, to speak to students about the importance of flu vaccination and prevention and receive an influenza vaccination as part of the Department’s #FightTheFluNJ campaign.
Principal Deputy Commissioner Cornell will join Dr. Vicente H. Gracias, senior vice chancellor for clinical affairs, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and Dr. Melodee Lasky, assistant vice chancellor for health and wellness, Rutgers University–New Brunswick at this event.
The event will begin at 1 pm at Busch Student Center, 604 Bartholomew Rd., Piscataway, NJ.
Throughout the fall, Department of Health staff will be visiting community health centers, hospitals and local health departments across the state to get their flu shots to illustrate the importance of this preventive measure.
Last month, Health Commissioner Shereef Elnahal, Chief of Staff Andrea Martinez-Mejia, and Deputy Commissioners Deborah Hartel and Marcela Maziarz visited health centers to receive their influenza vaccination.
