TRENTON, NJ - The New Jersey Department of Health (Department) is proposing to amend N.J.A.C. 8:45-2.1, Fees; generally, within Subchapter 2, Laboratory Charges, of N.J.A.C. 8:45, Clinical Laboratory Services.

N.J.A.C. 8:45-2.1, Fees; generally, establishes the fees the Department assesses for clinical laboratory services that the Department provides. The Department is proposing to increase the fee for the Department’s performance of the panel of newborn screening tests it performs on blood spots collected from each newborn from $150.00 to $260.00. The last fee increase was adopted in 2017.

The Notice of Proposal appears in the September 21, 2026, issue of the New Jersey Register. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must submit written comments either electronically by November 20, 2026, to nj.gov/health/legal/ecomments.shtml, or by regular mail postmarked by November 20, 2026, to Kimberly Jenkins, Director, Office of Legal and Regulatory Compliance, New Jersey Department of Health, PO Box 360, Trenton, NJ 08625-0360.
