Veteran Home Residents are encouraged to be active in their environment which promotes involvement, self-esteem, productivity and freedom for independent choices.
This is accomplished by providing diverse recreational activities of interest to each resident. Activities provided are physical, social, intellectual, sensory, spiritual, creative, and community oriented.
Recreational activities are available to the veteran home residents in small or large groups, or independent participation. Activities are available 7 days of the week, including evenings and Holidays.
Our volunteers and donations are incorporated into our Activity Programs to provide a full array of Resident centered Activities.
Just to name a few
The Volunteer Program is overseen by the Volunteer Services Coordinator. Volunteer services are provided by local Veteran and community organizations, individual adult volunteers and by our youth volunteer program.
In addition to assisting in social activities for our residents, these volunteers provide the Home with monetary and material donations. All monetary and material donations are distributed directly to the residents through activity programming and special events, or available at our Red, White and Bluetique.
The Red White and Bluetique is the Donation Store for our residents. Items available in this area are comprised of donated items from our Wish List. Residents may shop in this area free of charge during store hours. Items in the store may vary according to stock, but may include:

We are continuously recruiting new volunteers. We provide orientation for all volunteers. The volunteer program enriches the lives of our residents as well as our volunteers and enhances the quality of life our residents experience.

Service hours for volunteerism is eligible for recognition both by the Home as well as eligibility to earn recognition through the Presidential Service Award program. Also, contact us about Corporate days of service program where your business can volunteer for a day at the Home!
Through the donations of the very generous Veteran and Community Organizations, Individual citizens and family members, we are able to provide more activities and comfort items to our residents. Please see the Resident Wish List for items that are needed.
