Rippi K. Karda, Esq. is an Associate General Counsel in the Policy, Responsible Business, Legal, Security (PRLS) department at Verizon Inc., Rippi handles complex contracts for Sourcing involving Human Resources Benefits and Plans, Advertising Agencies, Contact Centers, Contingent Workforce, and Executive Recruiting. In addition, she works with Verizon Employee Resource Groups such as Pan Asian Corporate Excellence (PACE) and Women’s Alliance of Verizon Employees (WAVE).
Prior to entering the evolving technology industry, Rippi worked at several well-known pharmaceutical and biomedical companies such as Merck/Schering-Plough, Zimmer Biomet, Mylan Laboratories/Dey Pharma, and Ferring Pharmaceuticals. In these various roles, she supported commercial, as well as, research and development contracts. Her roles involved the review of multimedia-branded promotional materials and participation in regulatory, medical and legal review boards for orthopedics, gastroenterology and oncology products. Moreover, Rippi has provided counsel and guidance on complex matters related to antitrust, fraud and abuse, FCPA, Medicare, Medicaid, PhRMA Code and physician agreements.
As a complimentary professional service, Rippi created and leads the LinkedIn series “Attorney of the Week,” highlighting the notable achievements of diverse attorneys worldwide. To date, she has featured more than 300 attorneys worldwide.
Amber is Co-Executive Director of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders of New Jersey (AAPI NJ), a statewide nonprofit founded in 2021 to champion the well-being, rights, representation, histories, and cultures of New Jersey’s 1+ million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. During her tenure, AAPI NJ has built community power through grassroots organizing and civic engagement efforts in historically overlooked AAPI communities; developed Teach Asian American Stories, a national model for supporting K-12 ethnic studies; promoted AAPI visibility in NJ with public events attended by thousands; and worked in multiracial coalitions to advocate for voting rights, language access, immigrant rights, and police accountability, among other policies advancing the welfare of communities of color.
Amber is a writer and mother of two children with a professional background in research, policy, and data analysis. A Korean American adoptee, she is proud to serve as vice chair of the New Jersey AAPI Commission.
