If you would like to find opportunities to respond to the devastation of Dorian, there are lists of the groups that are activated now from the international rescue organizations, faith based and non-profit agencies, foundations, and governmental organizations. The needs are great.
As in all disasters, please do not send clothing, which cannot be immediately used, diverts life-saving and recovery efforts, and creates what is called “the second disaster” mountains of unused and mildewed clothing. Checks to organizations that are deployed, and gift cards to groups on the islands, are the most immediately usable.
If you want to help, please go to www.cidi.org/hurricane-dorian/ for further information.
