Lead Assistance Programs

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has a variety of lead-based paint hazard assistance programs to assist eligible occupants in remediating and/or abatement lead-based paint hazards in pre-1978 one to four family residential units. NJDCA’s lead assistance programs are the following:

  • Federal Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP)
  • State Lead-Safe Home Remediation Program
  • State Single-Family Home Remediation Program

 
FOR APPLICANTS

Eligible Applications: Submission of an application (Lead Assistance Program Application) to a designated community-based agency or municipality (Lead Assistance Contact List)

You may qualify for help the lead assistance programs if you meet the following requirements:

  • The property has presence of lead-based paint hazards;
  • Your household income is within the low-to-moderate income limits;
  • You live in a 1 to 4-unit residential home built before 1978;
  • The property is structurally sound.
