Summer 2016 is here!

Unfortunately, along with that nice warm sunshine can come the perfect conditions for ground-level ozone, or smog, formation. New Jersey has experienced its first few ozone exceedances already this year. To find out all about ozone pollution in New Jersey, visit CleanAirNJ.
Ozone formation is complex – needing not only the right meteorological and air quality conditions – but involving pollutants that are generated locally (e.g., car emissions) as well as transported ozone from upwind states. You can read the story of each specific ozone exceedance in New Jersey’s non-attainment areas this year by clicking here.
Finally, listen to New Jersey’s meteorology and air quality experts talk about the complexities of ozone formation, the health impacts associated with ozone, and how to best educate the public about this weather-dependent pollutant by clicking here.
