The Office of Consumer Finance regulates 16 types of businesses that provide a variety of consumer financial services.

The Office of Consumer Finance also enforces statutes and regulations that protect New Jersey consumers in financial services matters. Through its Consumer Services Bureau, the Office of Consumer Finance responds to consumer inquiries and investigates complaints regarding New Jersey state-chartered financial institutions and all licensees regulated by the Division of Banking.
