NJDOT announces nightly lane closures
on Route 35 in Holmdel

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced upcoming single-lane and shoulder closures on Route 35 southbound in Holmdel Township, Monmouth County.

On Monday, June 7, NJDOT will begin single travel lane and shoulder closures on Route 35 southbound between milepost 40.8 and milepost 41.2 for a maintenance project to convert the existing shoulder into a deceleration lane. The lane closures may take place Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, on Fridays from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, on Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday and on Sundays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday mornings. NJDOT will also allow shoulder closures on Route 35 southbound daily between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Construction operations will also include drainage improvements, surface course re-paving and utility relocation. The $ 518,000 project is anticipated to be completed by the end of September 2010.

NJDOT will utilize variable message signs on Route 35 to advise motorists of the traffic pattern changes. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.511nj.org
