Tim Hionis seated as the newest member of the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture

Tim Hionis was seated as the newest member of the New Jersey State Board of Agriculture, bringing decades of experience in New Jersey's horticulture industry to the Board.
Tim Hionis is the Co-Owner and Operator of Hionis Greenhouses, Inc., a family-owned horticultural growing operation in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. Founded in 1985 by his parents, Spiros and Angie Hionis, the business has grown over four decades into a leading producer of ornamental seasonal plants and flowers. Today, Tim works alongside his three brothers—Pete, Spiro, and Gerry—as the second generation guiding the company. The brothers assumed day-to-day leadership in 1997 and have continued to expand and modernize the operation, which now includes 18 acres of covered greenhouse production and 65 acres of outdoor growing space.

Throughout his career, he has valued listening, learning, and building relationships—attending industry conferences, traveling to trade shows, and engaging with growers, suppliers, and peers across the country.
The New Jersey Department of Agriculture extends its sincere appreciation to David DeFrange for his service on the State Board of Agriculture. During his four-year term, David provided valuable leadership and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing New Jersey agriculture. We thank him for his dedication, time, and contributions to the State Board and to New Jersey's agricultural community.
