(TRENTON) – USDA-NASS Reports New Jersey Farmers Expect Highest Hay Acreage Harvested Since 2018
TRENTON, NJ --- New Jersey field corn planted for all purposes in 2026 is an estimated 72,000 acres with 62 thousand acres expected harvested for grain, according to Secretary Wengryn.
All hay expected harvested acreage is 106,000 acres, the highest since 2018. Expected soybean harvested acreage is estimated at 98,000 acres.
Nationally, corn planted area for all purposes is estimated at 95.3 million acres, down 3 percent from last year. This represents the fourth highest planted acreage in the United States since 1944. Compared with last year, planted acreage is down or unchanged in 40 of the 48 estimating States. Area harvested for grain, at 87.4 million acres, is down 4 percent from last year. Soybean planted area for 2026 is estimated at 85.4 million acres, up 5 percent from last year. Compared with last year, planted acreage is up or unchanged in 23 of the 29 estimating States
