Help Keep the Garden State Green: Preserve Your Farm

For farmland owners, participation in the New Jersey State Agriculture Development Committee’s Farmland Preservation Program means a stronger land base to support New Jersey’s agricultural industry, the satisfaction of knowing their land will forever be preserved as farmland, and access to the resources that can help them achieve their personal and financial goals.

Farmland Preservation is voluntary and costs nothing to apply and receive an offer. Once you receive an offer, there is no obligation to accept.

Beyond getting paid to preserve your farm, preservation offers farm owners and operators many other benefits (soil and water cost-share funding, deer fencing grants, technical and financial assistance). The Farmland Preservation Program is more flexible today than ever before – with expanded economic opportunities associated with inviting the public onto your farm through Special Occasion Events.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
